The National Center for Transgender Equality Action Fund endorsed Kim Coco Iwamoto for Lieutenant Governor of Hawai‘i.

Kim Coco is a long-time civil rights leader and champion of education. She served for two terms on the Hawai‘i Board of Education and served on the Hawai‘i Civil Rights Commission until 2016. When Kim Coco was elected to the Board of Education in 2006, she became the first transgender person in the United States to be elected to statewide office. As a foster parent, Kim Coco has been a lifelong advocate for children and has made equity in housing a central part of her campaign platform.
